MELBOURNE, Fla. – Ross Dickerson earns the Sunshine State Conference specialist of the week honors after his performance against the Florida Tech Panthers and the NYIT Bears. The Spartans defeated the Panthers 14-9 before downing the Bears 16-12. The two wins put the Spartans 8-4 on the 2019 season. 

Dickerson takes Specialist of the Week for his efforts at the faceoff X during Tampa’s wins over Florida Tech (14-9) and New York Institute of Technology (16-12). Against the Panthers, the Berlin, Maryland native won 17-21 faceoffs and had 12 ground balls. Facing the Bears, Dickerson won 21-31 faceoffs and had 14 ground balls. For the week, the Spartan won 0.731% of his faceoffs and picked up 26 ground balls. Nationally, Ross still sits with the fifth best win percentage in the nation, 76.5.

Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of March 25 – 31, 2019. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
