Robert Pattinson is opposed to the idea that Batman is a superhero because he “doesn’t have have magical powers”.

The “Twilight” actor is to take on the iconic DC Comics role in the upcoming flick, “The Batman“, but confessed he’s not approaching the character as a superhero.

When the 33-year-old was asked on Australia’s “The Today Show” if he took on the role because he “wants to be a superhero,” the star playfully interjected: “Batman’s not a superhero! It’s weird, I always balk at it… it doesn’t count – you need to have magical powers.”

However, when it was pointed out Batman has a cape – a key superhero trope – Robert admitted: “Yeah, I’ll give you that one.”

The actor will be joined by Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Paul Dano as The Riddler in “The Batman”, which is slated for a 2021 release.
