“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” has scored the second biggest Christmas Day box office haul ever.

The final film in the latest Star Wars trilogy – and the ninth overall – took in $32 million on Wednesday, December 25, but still didn’t come close to the record, set by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens“, which made $49.3 million back in 2015.

The “Star Wars” franchise has owned the Christmas Day box office – “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” have the third and fourth best daily totals for the holiday.

“The Rise of Skywalker” has now snagged over $259 million in just six days.
