“We are beyond thrilled our vision and menu are so popular. Our customers just love the food and the atmosphere,” says Chef Gino Calleja. “We are grateful for all our customers and local regulars whose positive feedback is all we need to embrace another exciting year. We plan to continue offering fresh, daily specials, along with our current menu. This year saw the introduction of Burritos, which is very popular with our customers, along with our daily taco and other specials.” Reyna’s Taqueria is chef-owned and operated by Chef Gino Calleja; his sister Leticia Calleja, Chef de Cuisine; and partner José Viera, Operations Manager.
Open seven days a week, Monday through Thursday from 11am-9pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am-10pm, Reyna’s Taqueria offers indoor and outdoor dining with house-made, traditional Mexican dishes created by Chef Gino Calleja, former executive chef of Siesta Key Oyster Bar since 2015, and former executive chef of Mattison’s City Grille from 2008-2015.
Some menu items include: “Al Pastor Sopes”: Sopes are a unique Mexican item, a cousin of the tortilla, but are fried corn dough, hand-crafted into thick patties with raised edges, spread with refried black beans, filled with Guajillo Marinated Pork Shoulder, topped with lettuce, queso fresco, crema, and avocado with a side of salsa. “Barbacoa Tacos” are traditional Mexican tacos served warm with slowly-braised beef and traditional spices, onions, cilantro, and served with house-made salsa on the side. “Chicken Tinga Molote”, blue corn patty filled with pulled chicken breast, chipotle peppers & onions, tomatoes, and Oaxaca cheese topped with crema, queso fresco, and salsa roja on the side. Reyna’s House-made Sangria, a Calleja family recipe, is refreshing and fruity.
