A rare action figure of “Star Wars” character Boba Fett is expected to make franchise history by fetching the highest bid ever at auction.
The 1979 figurine currently has an entry bid of over $120,000 (£94,000) at Hake’s Auctions, and the toy is expected to sell to the highest bidder for between $200,000 (£156,000) to $500,000 (£390,000), breaking the previous $112,926 (£88,000) record set for a “Star Wars” statuette.
Less than 30 of the Boba Fett J-slot action figures are estimated to exist in the world and bidding will remain open until November 7.
The Boba Fett bounty hunter persona first appeared in the “Star Wars” film franchise developed by George Lucas in 1980’s “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back”, and was also resurrected for “Return of the Jedi”.
