Pair of Late Goals Leads UT Over Eckerd

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The University of Tampa women’s soccer team finished off Eckerd College late in the game with two quick goals.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
Final: Tampa 2, Eckerd 0
Records: University of Tampa Spartans (2-4, 2-0 SSC) vs. Eckerd College Tritons (4-1-1, 0-1-1 SSC)
Location: Johnson Field|| St. Petersburg, Fla.
All-time Series: Tampa leads the all-time series 24-3-1 as the Lady Spartans are currently on a 15 game winning streak.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half | The first half of the game remained scoreless as the Spartans continued to hustle by outshooting the Tritons 7-5. Tampa kicked three shots on goal compared to Eckerd’s two. Elena Barr attempted the most shots with two total in the first half. || UT, 0-0
2nd Half | In the 74 minute, the Spartans senior, Libby Wissman kicked in her second goal of the season to give Tampa the first lead of the game 1-0. Tampa scored again in a matter of minutes by Ashley Loeza with the assist from Lisa Caprara. The Spartans finished on top 2-0 as they held the Tritons to no shots in the second half. || UT, 2-0
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Goalkeeper Megan Bromwell registered the win as she finished with two saves.
- Tampa’s defense limited Eckerd to zero shots in the second half.
- Tampa outshot Eckerd 19-5.
- Four Spartans played the entire 90 minutes Bromwell, Wissman, Quinn Knapp, and Reni Taiwo
- Wissman finished with four shots, two shots on goal, and a goal.
