Nicole Kidman wants to return to the stage soon, as she fears developing stage fright if she leaves it any longer.
The Oscar-winner returned to theatre acting after waiting 17 years before she last returned to the stage in “Photograph 51” in London in 2015.
Nicole, 52, plans to sign up for a play in the next two years, to ensure she doesn’t develop stage fright again, which she has had to overcome in the past.
“I don’t want to get crippled by stage fright if I wait longer than another two years,” she told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper at the Toronto International Film Festival, where her new movie “The Goldfinch” had its premiere.
According to the Mail, the “Moulin Rouge” star is to visit New York after Toronto, and plans to watch Tom Hiddleston star in Harold Pinter‘s “Betrayal”. Then she will return to her home in Nashville, Tennessee and husband Keith Urban to “children, homework, husband and real life”.
In “The Goldfinch”, Nicole plays Samantha Barbour, a woman who takes in an orphaned teenager, played in adulthood by Ansel Elgort. The actress said she was attracted to the project because it’s a rare adult drama, adding: “Not too many of those get made.”
