McKiel Earns SSC Player of the Week Honors

TAMPA, Fla. – University of Tampa’s Katie McKiel earned her second Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week award this season. The junior outside hitter earned this award after leading the team to a 3-0 week.
For the week, the Spartans were 3-0, defeating Florida Southern, Nova Southeastern and Lynn. In those three matches, she totaled 45 kills, 26 digs and four total blocks. She also swung at a .427 percentage for the week.
In the game against Florida Southern, McKiel recorded 18 kills and swung at a career-high percentage of .630. Against Lynn, she recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 18 digs.
McKiel and the Spartans are back in action this weekend as they travel to Florida Tech on Friday night and face off against Embry-Riddle on Saturday.
