SARASOTA, FL – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that lawyer Matt Newton has received certification from the Florida Supreme Court to serve as an Appellate Mediator, allowing him to mediate cases that are being appealed or that are ready to go to appeal. In addition, Matt is a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator.

Matt has guided clients through numerous complex land use and zoning challenges, structured creative legal strategies for both new and growing businesses, and has resolved a wide variety of legal disputes through both traditional litigation and alternative strategies. Matt’s experience also extends to state and local election and political law, including campaign compliance and recount navigation. Matt has additionally worked on civil rights matters through his diverse pro bono work, and has provided commentary on legal controversies in the media.
