Kirsten Dunst was asked to have her teeth “fixed” by movie producers for her role in 2002 flick, “Spider-Man“.

In an interview with website news.com.au, the 37-year-old actress explained how a producer on the Marvel movie, in which she played Peter Parker’s love interest Mary Jane Watson, suggested that she get dental work for a perfect Hollywood smile, but she refused.

“On Spider-Man, one of the producers tried to subtly coerce me into changing my teeth into those perfect Barbie doll teeth. I was like, ‘Nope, not doing that,’ ” said Dunst, who starred opposite Tobey Maguire as the titular superhero.

The Hollywood veteran explained that she is more than comfortable with her looks and that having positive role models in the film industry meant she felt able to stand her ground when it came to discussions about her appearance.

“I had very good influences personally of women who were like, ‘You’re great, love your teeth, don’t change a thing’,” she continued. “I was given a strong sense of what I feel comfortable with.”

Dunst is currently promoting her new television series, “On Becoming a God in Central Florida“, which she began filming last year – a few months after the birth of her son Ennis, who she shares with actor Jesse Plemons.

“I was just so drained. The second we’d finish work, I’d just cry to my mother, saying, ‘I don’t know how I’m going to do this,’ ” she sighed. “So it was rough, especially because Krystal’s so feisty and talkative and high energy – I had to preserve my energy as best I could, but there were days I really struggled. I slept in Krystal’s bed a lot!”
