Keven Pimentel Named NCAA Statistical Champion For Wins
INDIANAPOLIS – University of Tampa pitcher Keven Pimentel earned recognition from the NCAA as the Division II National Statistical Champion for wins.
Pimentel, a recent graduate and Colorado Rockies draft selection, led the Spartans to the program’s eighth NCAA Division II National Championship as a senior. He finished with 13 wins to lead the NCAA Division II ranks. In 119.2 innings, he punched out 111 batters. His 19 starts went down as the most in a single season for the program.
The Huntington Station, N.Y., native earned All-Sunshine State Conference First-Team honors in addition to being named D2CCA first-team all-South Region, NCBWA first-team and ABCA/Rawlings second-team. He was also an honorable mention All-American. He capped his Spartan career as a member of the NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team and was the SSC Player of the Week on March 4. He also excelled in the classroom as a member of the SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
