Author and illustrator Janny Wurts will talk about Bust the Five Lies That Block Your Creativity Feb. 4 at Selby Library, Sarasota. The meeting begins at 6 pm, is free and open to visitors and members.
The brief lecture, followed by a Q&A session, will be helpful for writers of all genres, from aspiring authors to those published.
She is currently in print with HarperCollins Voyager UK, and Simon and Schuster NY, and has written 19 novels and published 36 works of short fiction in the Fantasy and Science Fiction fields.
Titles include the ten-volume Wars of Light and Shadows series, standalone To Ride Hell’s Chasm, and the Empire trilogy in collaboration with Raymond Feist.
She is a Chesley Award-winning professional illustrator, and her own paintings appear in her books, with a painting in the collection of the Delaware Art Museum. She is a past president of the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists, and a volunteer on the mounted team with Peace River K9 Search and Rescue Association. Husband Don Maitz is a renowned book cover illustrator.
