North Port, FL., Nov. 9, 2019 HOPE for North Port Partners with 5 Location to Serve Thousands of Meals Thanksgiving Day.Churches on the Suncoast are preparing to bless others as they will prepare Thanksgiving meals for thousands. This Thanksgiving Day, HOPE for North Port will be serving the City of North Port’s citizens and surrounding communities a Free Thanksgiving Day Meal. This outreach is for all citizens of the surrounding cities. Last year, we served well over 2450 meals in one day. We want to extend that this year and reach more people and show the radical love of Jesus through selfless giving. Part of this outreach includes delivering meals to those who are unable to get out and those who have no family to celebrate with or may just be alone for the holiday. We are planning on serving 3500 meals from 5 locations. Last year we were able to raise enough donations to purchase, cook, and serve 212 turkeys to the citizens of North Port and the surrounding areas. We will be serving 275 turkeys, vegetables, cranberry sauce, desserts and other fixings this year. Some of the locations will be having door prizes donated generously by many businesses and organizations throughout the community. New Hope Community Church host site will have live music, a children’s festival featuring bounce houses, face painting, games, children’s gift bags, and much more.Locations of serving are New Hope Community Church at 5600 South Biscayne Drive in North Port, Coastal Community Church at Imagine School 1000 Innovation Ave North Port, New Hope Arcadia 1401 SW MLK JR St Arcadia, Christ Lutheran Church 701 North Indiana Ave Englewood, and Trinity United Methodist Church 23084 Seneca Ave Port Charlotte. There is a need for volunteers at Port Charlotte locations with volunteer meetings to be announced. The Arcadia location is also in need of volunteers to handle the growing need of people looking to attended. Volunteer meeting for Arcadia are scheduled Nov. 14th at 5 pm and Nov. 20th at 9 am at Wheeler’s Cafe 13 S. Monroe Ave. Arcadia, FL any one interested in considering volunteer are welcome to attend. Call Bonnie Maue at 573-415-7830 for more details. Turkey donations can be made at 5600 South Biscayne Dr. North Port, FL on Mondays from 11 am to 1:30 pm now until November 18th. Turkeys should be frozen 14 to 16 pounds. They are in need of 275 turkeys. Last date to deliver turkey is Sunday November 24th at 1 pm.We have all been called to celebrate and be thankful for all things; my prayer is that the city would join together to help give many things to be thankful for, even if it is something as small as a meal, a friendly smile, or someone to share the day with.
