WHAT: Grand opening of Harvest Hope Park
WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 21, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
WHERE: Harvest Hope Park, 13704 North 20th St. Tampa, 33613
DETAILS: Five years in the making, Harvest Hope Park will open to the public, to the delight of the area’s residents and with much deserved fanfare.
Highlights of the newly renovated park include:
- 33 bed organic community garden; produce is free to residents
- Teaching kitchen where residents learn new methods of cooking healthy foods
- Multi-purpose sports field
- Walking trails
- One-acre pond with dock, home to bass, turtles, ducks and other wildlife
- Playground
- Sports equipment for adults
Event activities will include:
3:30-4 p.m. – Program and Ribbon-cutting
4-5:30 p.m. – Park tours, cane pole fishing, youth soccer game, cooking demonstrations, painting with Prodigy® Cultural Arts, garden seed planting, refreshments, music and more
