Harmar Debuts Reimagined “Highlander II” Accessibility Lift at National Elevator Conference
Sarasota, FL – Harmar recently unveiled its latest vertical platform lift innovation, the Highlander II, in front of the nation’s leading lift and elevator manufacturers at the 2019 National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) Annual Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The newly reimagined Highlander II represents the latest culmination of Harmar’s two decades of experience building state-of-the-art accessibility solutions for customers around the country.
Executives for Harmar, a Sarasota, Florida-based manufacturer of automobile wheelchair lifts, residential stair lifts, and vertical platform lifts, say the Highlander II has been redesigned in nearly every aspect. Upgrades include advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting software, True Battery Back-up technology, improved motor efficiency, and a smoother ride.
“To be able to demonstrate our ingenuity in front of some of the most important pros in the industry has been a real honor for us,” says Harmar CEO Steve Dawson. “We’re incredibly proud of the Highlander II design, and we’re excited to finally be able to show it off.”
Vertical platform lifts are designed primarily to take a person in a wheelchair or scooter from one elevation to another, allowing people with limited mobility to move easily through porch entrances, elevated doorways or other obstacles in multilevel homes and businesses.
The Highlander II also features intuitive status lights to allow technicians to perform remote troubleshooting and to streamline the service process. “It’s designed to provide owners with the utmost confidence,” says Todd Bick, senior director of sales at Harmar. “Smooth, dependable operation and seamless customer support means the highest-possible user satisfaction—which is always our ultimate goal. We’re in the business of making lives easier.”
The annual NAEC conference is the premier showcase for lifting technologies, uniting manufacturers, installers and technicians for professional symposiums and product demonstrations.
