Hana Van Loock Takes SSC Swimmer of Week Award

MELBOURNE, Fla. – University of Tampa women’s swimmer Hana van Loock was recognized by the Sunshine State Conference as its Swimmer of the Week after leading UT to a win over visiting Eastern Illinois.
van Loock, a junior from Essen, Germany, was Tampa’s top swimmer in a dual-meet victory over Eastern Illinois University on Saturday. The German championed the 50 Free in 24.58 ahead of teammates Molly O’Hara and Maureen Moore. van Loock also took first in the 100 Free by more than three seconds with a time of 53.75. The weekly award is the third of her career.
Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of December 30, 2019 – January 5, 2020. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
