[ad_1]

Donate a Gently Used Instrument and Receive a FREE Ticket to the Festival

Tampa, Fla. (December 2, 2019) – The Gasparilla Music Foundation (GMF) and its Recycled Tunes program will hold a Musical Instrument Drive benefitting bay area schools on Saturday, December 7th from noon until 4pm at Sparkman Wharf in downtown Tampa.  GMF will be accepting new and gently used instruments in exchange for a FREE 2-DAY general admission ticket to the Gasparilla Music Festival taking place March 7-8, 2020.

Instruments received by Recycled Tunes are refurbished (if necessary) and donated to Title 1 schools in the Tampa Bay area. The program also provides repairs, gear, and other supplies such as strings, sticks and bows for music classrooms. In 2019, Recycled Tunes has provided over 350 instruments to classrooms supporting over 1,000 children.  While there is a need for a broad range of instruments, Recycled Tunes’ current priority needs for classrooms are for brass, woodwind and string instruments.

“Our goal is to ensure that every child has access to musical instrument and to support our amazing music teachers so they can focus on teaching,” said Cameron Williams, Recycled Tunes’ Director.

Taking place alongside the instrument drive will be a FREE concert on the lawn at Sparkman Wharf.

12:30pm – Bears and Lions – Gainesville, FL – brings the mix of a theatrical stage show and rocking live music that keeps the kids involved and entertained as they tell their stories of their love of pancakes, following your dreams, making unusual friends, accepting others, and teamwork.

1:45pm – Judy Anne Jackson – Tampa, FL – multi-instrumentalist and singer who recently won “Producers’ Choice” Award at the 2019 PBS Celebration of Music

2:00pm – Visit Neptune – Tampa, FL –  an exciting young local indie rock band on the rise

2:45pm – Plant High School Drumline  – Tampa, FL

3:30pm – Have Gun, Will Travel – Bradenton, FL – Tampa Bay’s beloved Americana heroes have been touring non-stop following their Summer 2019 release, Strange Chemistry, which pays tribute to their early indie-rock influences
