AUSTIN, Texas – University of Tampa senior women’s basketball player Emily Eshoo has been honored as a member of the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Women’s Basketball teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A senior guard from Naperville, Ill., Eshoo carries a 4.0 GPA while majoring in international studies. Her success has also carried over to the basketball floor, where she has started all 29 games for the 21-8 Spartans while leading UT to a 2019 NCAA Tournament bid. She currently averages 9.5 points per game and ranks third on the team with 58 assists. Her 40.7 3-point field goal percentage is also second on the team. A transfer from Bradley University, she currently sits at third all-time with a 40.1 career 3-point percentage in her two seasons at UT.
In addition to her success in the classroom and on the court, Eshoo has also served as an Education Abroad Ambassador for the UT International Programs Office and an Alumni Ambassador for CIS. She also studied abroad in Madrid, Spain last summer and recently participated in Great American Teach-In (November 2018). She is also the Vice-President of UT’s SAAC organization and a Congressional intern for U.S. Representative Kathy Castor (14th District).
Eshoo becomes the 53rd Academic All-American from the University of Tampa, and the seventh women’s basketball player.
