Elizaveta Bazarova Picks Up SSC Swimmer of Week Award

MELBOURNE, Fla. – University of Tampa standout Elizaveta Bazarova was awarded as the Sunshine State Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week.
Bazarova had five first-place finishes in pair of Tampa road wins at Florida Tech and Keiser University. The Russian helped her team to wins in the 400 Medley Relay in 3:58.48 and the 400 Free Relay in 3:39.30. She also took the 50 Free after being clocked at 23.85, an NCAA “B” qualifying time. Against Keiser, Bazarova topped the 200 Free with a time of 1:55.25. Bazarova later championed the 100 Free in 52.06, which also bests the NCAA “B” qualifying time.
Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of January 6 – 12, 2020. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
