CSCAA Presents Academic Honors to UT Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected a record 762 programs from 480 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2019 semester. Both University of Tampa teams were among the programs listed. Teams were selected on the basis of their Fall 2019 grade point averages and represent 17,685 student-athletes.
The Spartans were led by their women’s team, which recorded a 3.38 team GPA in the fall semester. Head coach Jimi Kiner‘s men’s squad was also recognized after registering a 3.28.
Tampa has also excelled in competition, where its men are currently No. 9 nationally while its women are No. 8 in the latest TYR/CSCAA NCAA Division II poll.
UT is back in action from February 13-16 at the 2020 Sunshine State Conference Championships at the Long Center in Clearwater, Fla.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation’s first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
