Claire Swanson Earns National Player of the Week Recognition
GRAND LAKE, Colo. – For the first time in program history, a University of Tampa women’s lacrosse player earns IWLCA National Player of the Week Honors. Not only did junior Claire Swanson win the SSC Defensive Player of Week, but she was also named the IWLCA Division II Defensive National Player of the Week as announced by the association, Wednesday.
Swanson receives this accolade after racking up 11 draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 20-19 overtime loss to #9 Regis. Additionally, the junior midfielder had three goals and two assists against the Rangers. The Spartans went 33-for-36 on clearing attempts and forced 14 turnovers during the game.
