The 2020 models include:
Pura Vida : If you have been to a Spanish speaking country on vacation, or if you are planning a vacation, one term you should be familiar with is “Pura Vida” (pronounced poo-rah vee-dah). Simply translated, it means “simple life” or “pure life”, but in many vacation destinations from Mexico to Costa Rica is more than just a saying—it is a way of life. Many locals use this term to say hello, to say goodbye, to say everything’s great, to say everything’s cool. However, it is not the words that reflect the true meaning of ¡Pura Vida!. Pura Vida is the way locals live without stressing out about things the way most foreigners do. No worries, no fuss, no stress—pura vida to them means being thankful for what they have and not dwelling on the negative.
“Viva La Serpiente” : This is a piece of traditional Spanish artwork that will become a family heirloom. The “Serpiente” in Spanish, translated to “snake” is featured prominently in traditional Mexican artwork, mythology and legend. Mexican mythology indicates the snake is a symbol of veneration, worship and honor. Often a symbol of great power, resurrection and rebirth, the snake continues to be a powerful emblem of renewal and transition. Further, the snake is recognized as a symbol of humanity as a whole.
“Laquer of Patzcuaro” : The lacquer or also known as “Maque” exists since pre-Hispanic times, however, in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán has perfected the technique to take it to a decorative plane for its delicacy. The design of this humidor represents in a more contemporary way, where we honor our ancestors and make known about the pre-Hispanic culture so significant for Mexico. This beautiful artistic expression shows another part of our beautiful traditions, a bit of our abundant nation, because Mexico is a country rich in culture worthy of being displayed to the rest of the world.
“Colors of Mayab” : showcases the richness of the artistry of the Yucatán embroidery whose images are applied to accessories, artwork, footware, clothing, and now adorn the cover of this hand crafted cigar humidor. The Yucatán Peninsula separates the Gulf of Mexico from the Caribbean Sea, encompassing 3 Mexican states, plus portions of Belize and Guatemala. The Yucatán is known for its tropical rain forests and jungles, as well as its being the home of the ancient Maya people.
“La Magia de tus Colores” : Mexico is not only known for it’s music. It’s monuments, costumes and history. Mexico is known as one of the places with beautiful flora and fauna. This design represents a tradition of a country along with it’s myths and legends of remote times. “La Magia de tus Colores” represents the folklore of the Mexican culture in this vibrant Spanish design.
“Viva Mexico!” : It means “Long Live Mexico,” and it’s a battle cry from the Independence War (1810-1821), fought to liberate the Mexican-born from the Spanish oppressors. Priest Miguel Hidalgo started this war with shouting “Viva Mexico” from a church balcony in the town of Dolores. For this reason, “Viva Mexico” is also known as the Cry of Dolores. Every year at 11 p.m. on September 15, the president and many mayors all over Mexico enact the Cry of Dolores to remember the heroes from the Independence war: Long live Hidalgo, long live Morelos, and many more. September 15 is the largest celebration for people in Mexico.
The humidors will be available directly from CigarCityHumidors.com while supplies last, and are available now for pre-order. We expect to fulfill orders next week from our Tampa, Florida fulfillment center.
