Cat Sterlacci Awarded as SSC Swimmer of Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. – University of Tampa swimmer Cat Sterlacci was honored as the Sunshine State Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week.
A freshman from Tampa, Sterlacci earns Swimmer of the Week honors following her performances against Indian River State College and at the Tampa Relays. At IRSC, Sterlacci won the 200 Medley Relay as her team was clocked at 1:47.59. The Tampa native took the 200 Free and the 100 Free in times of 1:56.79 and 53.38, respectively. She finished the meet with her fourth first-place effort, as Tampa took the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:33.60. Sterlacci went on to win the 3×100 Breast (3:27.38), 500 Crescendo (4:46.36), and the 400 IM (4:15.61) at the Tampa Relays.
Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of December 31, 2018 – January 6, 2019. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
