TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. (November 12, 2019)—ConventionSouth, a nationwide multimedia resource for planning events in the South, has recognized the Bilmar Beach Resort with a 2019 Readers’ Choice Award.

Bilmar Beach Resort is among 337 convention and visitor bureaus (CVBs), meeting facilities and hotels located across the South to receive this year’s Readers’ Choice Award. Throughout the year, meeting professionals nominated the meeting sites they believe provide exemplary service for group events. The nominated sites are then compiled onto an online ballot where over 7,000 meeting professionals and fans voted for the best of the best. 

The Bilmar has 166 rooms and 90 percent are beachfront.  Included with all rooms is free Wi-Fi, a large HiDef television, microwave oven, mini-fridge, hair dryer, electronic safe, iron and ironing board, coffee maker with complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water. Amenities include a mile-long beach trail, fitness center, beach fire pits, beach concierge, guest membership at two local golf courses, watersports rentals, as well as bicycles, scooters and beach buggies.

Groups have a dedicated sales manager and 24-hour access to business services. Parking is free in two parking lots and airport and transportation service is available. Tampa International Airport is 26 miles away and the St. Pete/Clearwater Airport is 16 miles away. If more than 8,000 square feet of newly renovated function space is not enough, complimentary six- foot registration table with linens and four chairs are provided as well as a complimentary podium, microphone and a drop-down screen. New is a program called #Bilmarvelous Business Rewards, a meeting planner incentive that offers cash back for group referrals.

Signature dining options are Sloppy Joe’s on the Beach and the Bilmar Beach Café, both with Gulf front views. Open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner, Sloppy Joe’s Key West tradition continues on Treasure Island serving fresh seafood and Caribbean themed flavors.

This is the first time that the Bilmar Beach Resort has received the award and the beachfront hotel will be featured as an award recipient in the December 2019 Awards Issue of ConventionSouth magazine.
