Spring Hill & Brooksville, Florida (August 30, 2019) – Advanced Cancer Treatment Centers, the oncology division of Access Health Care Physicians, is proud to welcome Clayton Elliott Alonso, MD, to its radiation oncology staff. Dr. Alonso comes to Advance Center Treatment Centers directly from completing his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Virginia where he served as Chief Resident from 2018 to 2019. While completing his residency he received the Constable/Agarwal Award in May 2019 and the Clinical Excellence Award in May 2018. He also completed his internship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital.
Dr. Alonso received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. He has published extensively on breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, rectal cancer, brain tumors, cardiac sparing techniques, stereotactic body radiation therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and brachytherapy. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, American Board of Radiology, American Society for Radiation Oncology, the American Brachytherapy Society, the American College of Radiology, and the Radiation Society of North America. Dr. Alonso reads and writes in both English and Spanish.
