007 Themed Fundraiser at Dimmit Aston Martin Benefits Breast Reconstruction for Cancer Survivors
SEMINOLE, Fla. (October 7, 2019) — Tickets are available atMyHopeChest.org for “The Perfect Bond” fundraiser on Wednesday, October 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Aston Martin Tampa Bay, Dimmitt Automotive Group, 3333 Gandy Blvd. in Pinellas Park. Your mission, should you choose to attend, is to don your best James Bond attire or wear pink, mingle among luxury vehicles, enjoy food and drinks and listen to live music by the Tampa Tones. Tickets are $50 per person and $90 per couple.
My Hope Chest is a nationwide non-profit founded by former Vegas showgirl and breast cancer survivor Alisa Savoretti, now a Seminole resident who has devoted time and resources to helping survivors who cannot afford the cost of breast reconstructive surgery.
Neither could Savoretti, back in 2001, working as a dancer and stuffing her costume top with tissues. She carried the moniker, “The Lopsided Showgirl” until landing a job at the Riviera Casino with health insurance to cover reconstruction.
“We provide breast reconstruction surgery for 7 to 10 women a year since relocating in 2010 to Tampa Bay. The charity received its first $25,000 donation from the Tampa Bay Lightning,” says Savoretti. “People have no idea how hard we work between recruiting surgeons and the year-long process it takes to help one woman.” Since then, Savoretti continues to raise funds for surgery for women who either lost jobs during their cancer fights or had no insurance. Surgeries range from 25,000 to 200,000 at a cash pay or insurance rate. My Hope Chest negotiates a Medicaid rate at about $13,500 per full reconstruction.
October 16th is Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day and while many women (and men) find the help they need while undergoing breast cancer treatment, only My Hope Chest addresses the need for what happens after a mastectomy. Savoretti says “The Perfect Bond” fundraiser is part of a 2019 capacity campaign, “with the goal to raise a minimum of $150,000 as part of our million dollar need to help some of the 73 women on our waitlist.”
